Entrance update
I'm ordering 800 concrete cinder blocks next week to resume construction on the new driveway entrance. These will form the 10' high x 31' long wings that encompass the flower beds that funnel you through the main gates. Stucco will follow...

The Orchard - Chicken & fish
For about 6 months Tim (my brother) has been teasing Paula (the receptionist) about bringing her a rotisserie chicken. Today (Christmas Eve) he shows up with one in a bag and a camera in the other hand when he goes to pickup Sandra with her broken ankle. You'll love Paula's laugh (a very Paula Dean sounding Southern chuckle). A quick tour of Sandra's office and a peek at the fish tank rounds out the video. Keep your eyes peeled for Santa... he makes a cameo.
Explanation
The Xmas 2008 video is "us" learning to use the new camera (Flip Ultra). It's late in the afternoon. We are in the middle of construction so the kitchen is a complete wreck - in the video you'll see Judy coming over to pick up Callie (dog) and Tim (my shirtless brother) shows her several framed pics he's put together for her as a Christmas gift near our tiny 2 foot tall Christmas tree. The pics are of a young Callie and some bittersweet older pics of her dog Hunter who passed away Dec 30 of last year (7 days from now). Sandra shows her crazy smile and broken ankle to the camera and I attempt to explain to her (multiple times) how to turn off the camera. It's raw footage of the chaos that seems to be the backbone of our lives these days. We all come across in an unflattering light but the room is abound with an underlying feeling of love and the spirit of the season- So, just smile and enjoy. Take life in stride.... Merry Christmas!
